| Following the announcement earlier this week that Smart is to discontinue its Forfour supermini, Mitsubishi has confirmed that the Colt, sister model to the Forfour, will remain in production at the factory which has been producing both models. Mitsubishi is now in negotiations with DaimlerChrysler over the winding-up of their joint venture, which will presumably involve DC paying some form of compensation to the tiny Japanese company. 'As previously stated and regardless of these negotiations, MMC will continue building its Colt B-segment car at its NedCar plant in the Netherlands,' a statement issued today reads. Mitsubishi aims to sell 80,000 Colts in Europe this year, in three- and five-door form as well as the new coupe-cabriolet bodystyle.
